The user rights that determine who can read, write, delete, etc. are specified per user group.
Every user is attached to a user group through which INEXTIA knows what the specific users have access to.
The user groups are created from the user group screen.
Next, the user rights are created from the user rights screen:
- The screen can be accessed from the options menu by clicking “User rights”.
- Usually all user groups are displayed as columns. If you would like to limit the number of user groups displayed, you can deselect or select these by using the "Select User Groups" button.
- If you want to set the rights for a specific screen, you can search for it on the left side. When you select the specific screen, the current screen automatically scrolls to the right, so that the rights to the selected screen come into focus.
There are 4 standard rights that are present on most screens: Read, Write, Change Log and Delete.
- Read
If you have reading rights, you can open the screen and search for data. To search for data from another screen, it is necessary to have reading rights. - Write
It is only possible to edit data if you have writing permission. - Change Log
If the user is granted rights to the Change Log, the user can see how data has changed over time, on screens from which data is created. -
- Delete
It is only possible to delete if this right is granted. When trying to delete data that are used in other places of the system, this will only be possible when the reference to the data is removed.
Example: When deleting a component to which jobs are attached, a warning will inform the user that the component cannot be deleted without deleting the attached jobs first.
Please note - On some objects, there is an extended right to delete – “Force delete”. This right is only thought of as belonging to administrators and should only be used when cleaning up data.
When the force delete right is granted, this can be used to delete all attached objects. An example could be a component where subcomponents, jobs, job histories will be deleted when deleting the component.
- Delete
Besides the 4 standard rights there are special rights to some screens.
As an example, special rights can be granted to postpone jobs, reopen job history, adjusting stock and the like.
